Fourth of July in Arnold

Arnold has become our new “go to” for Fourth of July. The parade is just right for our family of teens, tweens, and little ones—short but lively. The parade ends just a short walk from our road, so we generally walk down to town, checking out the floats as we go.

If you’ve never been to a small-town parade, prepare to be charmed. Old cars are a hit, along with homemade floats promoting local clubs and businesses. The most popular “float” is always the water truck, which sprays water frequently to the delight of laughing children.

Arnold is typically hot in July, so the rest of the day involves water in all its forms—lake time, pool games, and water fights. Due to fire danger, our community celebrates with a DJ dance party and drone show instead of fireworks, the perfect finale to a sweet summer day.
